First on the list is:
Time Lapse
"A project emerging between instrumental music and remanence state inspired by math rock/post rock movements. we always imagine playing in a video game background, movie soundtracks collaborated with fast forward and slow motion videos. we hope our name speaks by itself."-their description on their Facebook page.
[can't access the embed feature of Soundcloud today, so here's the link (click me) in one of their songs instead :)]
I heard them first on www.bootleg-radio.com while listening to my Tuesday afternoon fix, Love Drug Revolution.
Sabi ko, "wow, nice track". Then, di ko inakala na indie/post rock/math rock pala genre nila =]. Hihihihihi. Then I started searching their songs on the net. Started to replay their "Motion in Pixels" over and over again.
The 8-bit sounds and the instruments blends so softly. It matches the "makulit" sound of 8-bit sound. (redundancy strikes!)
Hoping to watch them live, and their upcoming songs.
(I hope they write more songs.)
Then here comes, Sleep is the Enemy.
"A 6 piece, nocturnal bunch."
-from their (Facebook page).
Well, this is totally different from Time Lapse. From their band influences, mainly:
Toe, B-Quartet, Augustana, Explosions In The Sky, Deftones, Our Lady Peace, MuteMath, Love Me Butch, Lowercase Noises, Enemies, Stereophonics, Brand New, The Boxer Rebellion, Minus the Bear, Electrico, Up Dharma Down, Malay, Enemies of Saturn
I think this is the reason why I instantly became their fan. Eh toe ba naman at Up Dharma Down (both respectable and one of the best indie band I ever heard). Even thought I still don't know the lyrics of their songs, I know and I feel that they are good.
Well, if I can still update my description for them, I'll update this post as much as I can.
Then comes my realization, I'm totally hooked to the Indie(Independent) scene. Yung feeling na "I want more.". Sa bawat indie band na nadidiscover ko ayun medyo lumiliit na yung gap between great and poor mainstream bands (medyo hater?).
Anyway, I think band reviews muna ang magiging laman ng mga blogpost ko, which I think it will take ages before I can post again. =]
Ciao.
